Does anyone know how to make an above ground pool solar cover reel?

I have a 24ft. above ground pool and a very heavy diamond bubble solar cover. I bought a reel and just hate it, so would like to make my own outside the pool and longer so it will fit without folding in the edges.

I used quickcrete to place 2 4×4 posts in the ground on the less visable side of my above ground pool. I drilled a 2 inch hole in each and used 2 inch pvc pipe as a reel.
